Specialties: Individual, Couples
Hi! I’m Dr. Lindsay Haston (she/her/hers) and I’m a licensed psychologist. I work with individual adults and couples to lead a more full and meaningful life, while also managing the pain that inevitably comes with it. I help clients to explore mindfulness skills to shift their internal narrative and unhook from painful or damaging thoughts. I specialize in working with clients who are curious about changing how they speak to themselves.
I find that humor and authenticity are crucial to a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I am curious and bright in therapy, working to cultivate a genuine connection with each of my clients. I utilize principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) alongside skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. Clients can expect me to explore historical causes of what brings them to therapy as well as practical solutions and coping mechanisms to mitigate some of what is challenging them.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Drexel University and earned my Doctorate of Psychology at Widener University. While at Widener, I completed concentrations in ACT/CBT and forensic psychology. I wrote my dissertation adapting a self-compassion program for juveniles involved in the criminal justice system. I am thoughtful in my personal and professional life about systemic issues and the longstanding impact they have on mental and physical health.
I am incredibly grateful to have the career that I do. It is beautiful and rewarding to see clients shift how they see and speak to themselves, increase connection, and lean into joy and levity. I spend my free time with my two Shiba Inus, wandering local Targets, eating chicken cutlets, and blasting reggaetón.
