Hi, my name is Cait (she/her/hers) and I’m a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health and substance use fields. I work mainly with adults who are interested in individual sessions. Reaching out for therapeutic support can be challenging and anxiety producing, so I strive to provide a safe and inclusive atmosphere where you and I can work together to bridge the gap between your life today and the life you’re looking to create for yourself.
Our first few sessions together often focus on me getting to know you and the situations that have brought you to therapy. From there, you and I will work to identify and challenge the things that are no longer serving you (i.e. unhelpful personal beliefs and narratives, communication styles, habits, etc.) and build on your unique strengths that will help you live a life in-line with your values and goals. I often use a mix of compassion, mindfulness techniques, humor, and a direct approach that honors your individual needs and strengths. My favorite aspect of working with my clients is seeing them tap into their own innate strengths to elicit positive and meaningful changes in their lives.
When I’m not providing therapeutic support, I like to spend time with friends and family, I listen to and create music, lift at the gym, practice yoga and meditation, and spend time outdoors hiking and riding horses.
